Weekend Book Give-Away: Melody Burning

This week's Weekend Book Give-Away is Melody Burning by Whitley Strieber.  Strieber has written a bunch of adult books, and this is his first book for teens:

Beresford doesn’t remember much about his past or how he came to live in the chutes and crawl spaces of the posh high-rise that shares his name. But when rock star and teen sensation Melody McGrath moves to an apartment on the fiftieth floor, he knows he has to be near her. Although she doesn’t realize it, Melody is threatened by more dangerous forces than her manipulative stage mom and the pressures of life in the spotlight. The owner of the glamorous building has been hiding a fatal secret within its walls, and Beresford puts all his plans at risk. Will Beresford and Melody be able to escape?

Sounds both suspenseful and intriguing.  To enter the drawing for this book, tell me this:  if you had to secretly live in a famous building, which one would it be, and why?  How do you imagine secretly living there?  Most creative answer will be chosen on Tuesday January 23, 2012 to win!

When reading this question, my main inspiration comes from two movies, actually... Phantom of the Opera and Sherlock Holmes 2. Don't worry, I won't write any spoilers. I think I'd like to live in the Paramount Theater, taking to the basements and/or trying out urban camouflage.

If I had to secretly live in a famous building it would be probably be the Sydney Opera House because I would get to hear beautiful music all day and witness many plays and musical productions people pay so much to see. I would imagine myself finding a space in the high vaulted birch ceiling of the Concert Hall and when hungery or in need of nessesities making my way down to the restraunt and gift shop.

The Globe Theatre is pretty much the first thing that comes to mind. It's huge and full of many spaces to hide, so concealing myself wouldn't be an issue, and it's just about the coolest thing ever. Who wouldn't want to live in the same place that Shakespeare's plays were performed? It sounds like it would be so much fun- plus, plays are still held there, so I wouldn't be at a loss for entertainment.

If I had to chose, I think I would secretly live in The Tower of London. Not only does this place house the crown jewels, it's just an awesome sounding place with a lot of history to it. I would be able to live here, by memorizing the tour schedule, and in the off-hours pretending to be the ghost of Anne Boelyn, who allegedly haunts the place. I guess I could be any ghost, and get away with it. It could be fun...let's try it out :)

I would want to live in the Notre Dame Cathedral in France. The vastness of the church would be sure to hide me. I have always enjoyed secret passages, and I'm sure Notre Dame had many. I could sneak out in disguise if I got hungry and go to one of the many restaurants in Paris. Also who wouldn't want to be surrounded by the marvelous architecture of Notre Dame?
