October is Teen Read Month here at Sno-Isle Libraries, where we celebrate teens reading for pleasure! This year's theme is Books with Bite.Here are some great Books with Bite booklists from YALSA of books with bite...including Bug Bites, Bite-Sized Books, Biting Humor, Take a Bite (food and cooking), Bite the Bullet (adventure), Get Bitten (monsters and vampires), Big Bites (creatures and dinosaurs), Biting Questions, Sound Bites, and Books with Byte.
We have a ton of great programs this month, including video gaming, monster book debate, creepy movies, Goth sock puppets, Fear Factor eating challenges, financial aid workshops, comic book drawing class, Vampire Academy author Rachel Mead, a Haunted Library event, not one but two costume parties, and more!
Plus, we have two contests going on this month:
1) Write a great book review, for a chance to win our cool new Infamous for Information t-shirt! The teen librarian at each Sno-Isle Library will pick his or her favorite review
of the month.2) Enter our annual Teen Art Contest! Four winners will be selected in early November to win $25 Amazon.com gift cards. This years theme of Books With Bite should be fun to work with!
