Weekend Book Give-Away: The Fox Inheritance

Love teen books and their authors? Right now there is an awesome tour happening that you will not want to miss. It is the Pen Fatale Tour and will be coming through our area next month:

Come meet Alyson Noël (author of the Riley Bloom series), Gabrielle Zevin (author of All These Things I've Done), Jessica Brody (author of My Life Undecided/The Karma Club), and Mary Pearson (author of the Adoration of Jenna Fox/The Fox Inheritance)!

Thursday, October 13 · 7:00pm - 10:00pm
Barnes and Noble
19401 Alderwood Mall Parkway
Lynnwood, WA

In celebration of this fun event, we will be giving awayLink some of the titles to a lucky teen to bring to the even to be signed! This week it is The Fox Inheritance by Mary Pearson.

Two-hundred-sixty years after a terrible accident destroyed their bodies, sixteen-year-old Locke and seventeen-year-old Kara have been brought back to life in newly bioengineered bodies, with many questions about the world they find themselves in and more than two centuries of horrible memories of being trapped in a digital netherworld wondering what would become of them.

This week's question is if you woke 260 years in the future with a newly bioengineered body, what features would you want it to have?

Drawing will take place Tuesday October 4th. Check back here to see if you won! (No anonymous answers, please...though initials are ok).

I would want the body to have a super strong immune system so that you would never get sick. I would also want the body to have 20/20 vision so I wouldn't need glasses and perfect, straight teeth so I wouldn't need braces.

I'd like my bioengineered body to be able to fly. Just that alone should help me get over the shock of being alive again! Sort of like... Astro Boy. Everything was weird when he came back, but then he learned to fly, and all became awesome.

That's really kind of creepy. But after 260 years I would expect some immortality, some bionic sight and hearing, and perhaps the ability to fly. Heck I'd give away all of those if I could fly.

I would like my body to be toned....and be healthy. I would like all of my limbs intact, and have perfect vision, hearing, and smell. Which is similar to a perfect robot, but that is probably how the future will be. My last, but definitely not least demand would be to not be old. I would like to be somewhere around late teens, early twenties so I can maximize my life span.

First of all, I just want to say that The Adoration of Jenna Fox is one of my favorite books, and that I just now found out that there is a sequel and I'm still hyperventilating.

Anyways, if my body were bioengineered....well, given that Jenna lived forever and never got sick because of her body, I don't need to add that to my list of qualities...I'd have to say that no glasses/braces is a must (totally agree with Maddy E on that one), but I'd also like to be taller (like...5'8" or 5'9") and have icy green eyes and fast-growing hair (mine grows so slowly T_T). And my hair would be a very vibrant auburn color. Oh, and I'd have perfect skin! And stay a healthy weight no matter what!
