Weekend Book Give-Away: Requiem

This week's book, Requiem, is the exciting finale to Lauren Oliver's best-selling Delirium series. Will the rebellion survive? Will the resistance hold? How will the stories of Lena and Hana, living on opposite sides of the struggle, come together in the end? Who will Lena choose? Julian, the boy she saved, or Alex, the boy she thought was dead?

From the publisher: "Now an active member of the resistance, Lena has been transformed. The nascent rebellion that was under way in Pandemonium has ignited into an all-out revolution in Requiem, and Lena is at the center of the fight.

After rescuing Julian from a death sentence, Lena and her friends fled to the Wilds. But the Wilds are no longer a safe haven—pockets of rebellion have opened throughout the country, and the government cannot deny the existence of Invalids. Regulators now infiltrate the borderlands to stamp out the rebels, and as Lena navigates the increasingly dangerous terrain, her best friend, Hana, lives a safe, loveless life in Portland as the fiancée of the young mayor.

Requiem is told from both Lena’s and Hana’s points of view. The two girls live side by side in a world that divides them until, at last, their stories converge."

For a chance to win, tell me about a time that you and your best friend, or fictional best friends, were divided.

Winner will be selected with Random Number Generator on Tuesday June 11, 2013. Be sure to leave a name with your entry, and check back to see if you won. To win you must be a teen (6th-12th grade, or 12-18) who uses a Sno-Isle Library.

I became best friends with Vickey when I was in 5th grade and we were declared best friends by the end of the school day. After 5th grade, her and I never had a class together again but still stayed with each other through everything. I moved after 7th grade and that's when our friendship was really tested. It was hard to keep in touch and we had a journal that we send back and forth between us and talk on the phone every so often.

I had a friend who actually spread a bad rumor about me doing things I never did. After a quick thought, I ended our friendship, but quickly regretted it. Not too long ago I contacted her, and we became good friends again!

I have known my best friend for 13 years, since we were just 3 years old. Both of us have moved multiple times across the country. However no we only live a ferry boat ride away. Even though we don't talk much, we always pick up where we left off when we see each other. She is actually the one who introduced me to this series!
