Featured Teen Book Review of the Week: The Pledge

The Pledge by Kimberly Derting

4 stars.

Describe the book: Charlie lives in a world where the different classes speak both their own language and common language. You are not to understand any language that is not yours. Charlie can understand all languages. This ability will get get her killed if she isn't careful. Which is hard to do after she meets a boy that speaks an unknown language.

What did you think: This book was so good. I read it all in one sitting. It was interesting from the beginning. It was filled twists and turns and the end was filled with heart stopping interactions. This book was somewhat confusing because none of the languages are real, but once you can straighten out which class speaks what language it is a great book.

Who would you recommend it to: For fans of fiction languages and secret abilities
