10 years

And they want more of your money.
Die hards probably know this, but on September 23rd, Scholastic is releasing the first Harry Potter book with a new cover - and "exclusive bonus material from J.K. Rowling."

But who am I fooling? I'm totally going to check out that exclusive material. I just might not spend $30 on a book I already have.

Check out every detail of the cover at Scholastic.

Read more here, here and here.

I was surprised (and impressed) that Scholastic never opted to do "movie version" covers (these are the versions that capitalize on a current movie by swapping the original cover for a shot from the film). I thought the worst examples were "A Beautiful Mind" and "Frida", where the subjects were bumped from their own biographies and replaced with the more photogenic Russell Crowe and Salma Hayek!
