Tamora Pierce on tour

Ok, I have read every. single. Tamora Pierce novel (that's 26 books, people). And a healthy bit of her short stories. So you could say I'm a fan. Perhaps.

Anyway, Tamora Pierce will be in the Puget Sound area for TWO events in the next week. The first will be at Third Place Books (although to get in the "signing line" you seem to have to buy her new book, Bloodhound. Hmm.) on Saturday May 9th at 6:30 pm. The second will be at Secret Garden Books on Monday, May 11th at 7pm.

Oh, and if you do not yet know who Tamora Pierce is, then you are clearly not a patron who has met me at the Lynnwood Library. She writes kick-butt fantasy with strong girls, amazing adventures, and often epic battles between good and evil. There are gods and magic and intrigue and just plain old brute strength. If you are a fan of last year's (amazing) Graceling, Tamora Pierce was the author that paved the way for books like that. Not that I idolize or anything...(start with either Alanna: The First Adventure [which has a horrendous cover] or Terrier).

While I freak out over here, you should go take the "Which Tortall Heroine Are You?" quiz.

I'm Alianne, by the way, according to the quiz. From Trickster's Choice & Trickster's Queen. Which apparently means:

"You are most like Alianne. You are rebellious and cunning. Like her mother, Alanna, you risk your own life to protect those around you, but you would rather they did not know it. Your passion for justice is just as strong as your compassion for others and they often conflict with one another."

Who are you? Alainne? Alanna? Beka? Daine? Keladry?
