It's Kind of a Funny Story by Ned Vizzini
Flipped by Wendelin van Draanen
Legend of the Guardians (many of you probably grew up reading the series this is based on, Guardians of Ga'Hoole by Kathryn Lasky):
While It's Kind of a Funny Story looks, um, funny, I think I'm more excited about Flipped. It's a sweet book and one of my favorites. I'm not quite sure what to think about Guardians, though. What do you think?

All of these books-into-movies look fantastic...I want to see them all! Who won the Teen Librarian Choice Award?
I'm looking forward to seeing Ga'hoole. This is mainly so I have something new to mock. They NEVER get the story right when they try to make a movie out of a good book (take Lord of the Rings for example). I enjoy mocking butchered movies. But who knows? They may actually get it right for once! I would enjoy that even more.
The Librarian's Choice award has not yet been picked...there were over 4000 entries and sorting through has been tougher than we expected!
My boys both loved the Guardians of Ga'Hoole series and can't wait to see the movie. Crossing my fingers it will be wonderful!
So I went and saw Ga'Hoole and yet again the book is WAY better than the movie. They take quite a few "creative liberties" with the plot and characters (in other words they butchered it). I LOVED the music though. Why do they ruin good stories like that? It's not like they are unable to follow the storyline and have a good movie at the same time. However, I should say that it is actually a cool movie as long as you haven't read the books.
