Awesome Book Giveaway: The Coldest Girl in Coldtown

This week's book The Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black portrays so many emotions from love, to revenge, to humor, to horror. Think you are done with vampire books?   Think again:

Tana lives in a world where walled cities called Coldtowns exist. In them, quarantined monsters and humans mingle in a decadently bloody mix of predator and prey. The only problem is, once you pass through Coldtown's gates, you can never leave. One morning, after a perfectly ordinary party, Tana wakes up surrounded by corpses. The only other survivors of this massacre are her exasperatingly endearing ex-boyfriend, infected and on the edge, and a mysterious boy burdened with a terrible secret. Shaken and determined, Tana enters a race against the clock to save the three of them the only way she knows how: by going straight to the wicked, opulent heart of Coldtown itself.

I was at the bookstore with two of my friends, sniffing the candles they had there when a middle-aged man came up to us asking which candle we thought smelled the manliest. Seeing no danger in this, we gleefully showed him a candle. It wasn't weird until he took one of my friend’s shoulders, and looked at her seriously telling her that her eyes were beautiful. After thanking him and extricating her from his grasp we went over to the café where my sister was sitting. Later on we were out in front saying goodbye to each other and taking pictures since we wouldn't see each other for another year, the same man came out and offered to take the pictures, taking his own phone out his pocket to use. We quickly declined and ran back inside to the café where people could see us if anything happened, including him who watched us until I got my dad to pick us up.

I was volunteering with the homeless in Everett a couple weeks ago when a fight broke out. A woman got knocked to the ground and someone started yelling that the guy who started it had a knife. Some of the adult volunteers called the police but the other homeless people had the fight broken up within minutes. Luckily, no one was injured and the police arrested the guy later that same day. However it was still a scary situation.

One time, I passed out when I was dissecting a pigs heart. I was scared because when I woke up I was on the floor.
