Weekend Book Give-Away: Ruby Red

The week's book is a Ruby Red by Kerstin Gier, in which sixteen-year-old Gwyneth discovers that she, rather than her well-prepared cousin, carries a time-travel gene, and soon she is journeying with Gideon, who shares the gift, through historical London trying to discover whom they can trust. Here is a trailer:

Once again there is a waiting list for this awesome book if you get it from the library. But if you want to read it next week, enter here to win!

To enter leave a comment telling us where and when you would go if you could time travel. ( Me, I'd like to see the Beatles live in concert.) Winner will be selected on Tuesday July 26, 2011.

There are a lot of times/places I'd love to go...but I'll pick three off my list:

1.) Early Ireland. Like, 11/12th century. I'm really interested in Irish mythology, and this is about the time when it was the main religion. I'd love to hear the stories from someone who believed them rather than reading them in a folktale book. Besides, Ireland was at war with Norway then, and who doesn't love a good battle with the Vikings?

2.) Medieval Europe. The time of dragons (not really), knights, and the Black Plague! (Though the latter does not sound nearly as pleasant as the first two). I want to see a legit jousting tournament!

3.) Elementary school. Laugh at me now, but there are many, many times I wish I could travel back to so I could slap my younger self silly.

Since I am stuck in this mood of reading the Bloody Jack series (they are love) I would definitely go to the 1800's and work on a ship, and be a mighty fine sailor. Doesn't matter that I'm a girl. If Jacky Faber can do it, so can I.

Well...I was a very deprived child. Up until 2 weeks ago (when I finally was granted permission and proceeded to watch all the way up to Deathly Hallows pt. 1, plus begin on the books), I was never allowed to watch or read Harry Potter. If I could time travel, I'd go back to when The Sorcerer's Stone was first played in the movie theaters...and I'd go to the midnight showing. And the midnight showings of all the movies. And to every book signing J.K. Rowling ever held. I feel a strong need to make up for years of lost fangirling over this amazing series...

I would travel back to the civil war so I could meet Abraham Lincoln.

I would like to travel back to elementary school because EVERYTHING WAS SO MUCH EASIER. 1+1=2...those were the days.

If i could go anywhere using time travel i would go back to the holocaust and warn people about Hitler before he became such a powerful figure in society. That way i would be saving lives and helping people globably. Ya, it would probably mess with future events but really i think it would be worth the risk.

I'm not sure if I'm supposed to enter if I already won a book, but I think it's an interesting question so I'm going to answer it anyways!
There are so many different times I'd like to visit that it's hard to choose, but I'm going to have to go with the original Resurrection Sunday. Can you imagine? Being there when Christ Jesus conquered death!
