Weekend Book Give-Away: Shadow and Bone

This week's awesome book give-away is Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo.  At least 20 people are waiting to read this, but if you win you can get it much sooner!

Surrounded by enemies, the once-great nation of Ravka has been torn in two by the Shadow Fold, a swath of near impenetrable darkness crawling with monsters who feast on human flesh. Now its fate may rest on the shoulders of one lonely refugee. Alina Starkov has never been good at anything. But when her regiment is attacked on the Fold and her best friend is brutally injured, Alina reveals a dormant power that saves his life--a power that could be the key to setting her war-ravaged country free. Wrenched from everything she knows, Alina is whisked away to the royal court to be trained as a member of the Grisha, the magical elite led by the mysterious Darkling. Yet nothing in this lavish world is what it seems. With darkness looming and an entire kingdom depending on her untamed power, Alina will have to confront the secrets of the Grisha...and the secrets of her heart.

Never been good at anything?  So sad...surely everyone is good at something, no?  For a chance to win this book, tell me 1) something you are good at (not matter how small) and 2) what you would like your dormant power to be.

Winner will be selected with Random Number Generator on Tuesday October 16, 2012. Be sure to leave a name with your entry, and check back to see if you won. To win you must be a teen (6th-12th grade, or 12-18) who uses a Sno-Isle Library.

Even though I'm not the athletic type I am surprisingly good at rock climbing. The first couple of times I tried I was able to complete 5.8 climbs on a scale where 5.15 is the highest level of difficulty. If I had a dormant power I would want to be able to apparate. It would make getting to classes so much easier if I could just snap my fingers and be there in an instant.

I'm good at making shrinky dinky jewlery. I would like my dormant power to be to a strength power because then in gymnastics I could be better on the beam and every day things I do would be easy for me.

I'm actually pretty good at baking :) I love making cookies, cakes, brownies, and fudge.

Hmm...I'd want my dormant power to be able to heal people. I could help so much.

I'm a good dancer, I'd like my dormant power to be telepathy with animals. I love animals and being able to communicate would be a dream!

Is this international??? I'm from the UK. If so...

I'm good at doing high rope courses, which is weird because I have terrible foot coordination when I'm on the ground (I trip down stairs, fall out of tree houses, smash vases) but I seem to be a bit more organised in the air. I think for my dormant power, I'd like to take that one step further and be able to properly fly. You know, soar to the top of a building and look down on the streets - that kind of thing.

I hope that's all I need to write :)

R#G has spoken, and seems to be partial to rock climbing. Maddy E...this book is yours and will be sent to the Mukilteo Library for you.
