Well, I've read a lot of romantic books, and although I can't pick the number one romantic book I've read, I can say that The Fault in Our Stars by John Green is probably in my top ten, especially since it was such a realistic take on love.
I have read a lot of books with romance in them but very few based on romance. The best I've read is Dragonfly by Julia Golding. Even though its not realistic the author makes the changing feelings of the two leads very evident through her writing.
