David's Favorite Sci-Fi DVD

Our Teen Tech Month guest blogger for today is David, the Teen Contact at the Camano Island Library Pilot Project. He has worked in bookstores and libraries for years, and always has fresh ideas and recommendations:

One of my recent favorite DVDs is Cloverfield – and it seems like hardly anybody knows about it. I think the title is the problem; it was supposed to be a code word so that details of the plot wouldn’t leak out ahead of release, but Cloverfield sounds like some British rom-com. Far from it – instead, a monster is rampaging through New York City, and some college students manage to ‘film’ it as they try to escape. The hand-held video camera effect just adds to the “you are there” drama.

Yeah Cloverfield is a really killer THriller!! It's got a really neat way of filming too! Not like your standard movie, more like an actual doct! I highly recommend (And this comes from someone who doesn't like thriller much too!)
